FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who can join the league?

If you’re 18 or older, you’re welcome to join. It’s a great way to get out, play some ball, meet good people, and be part of a fun, supportive community.

  • How do I register for a team?

If you’re new or looking for a team, start by coming out to one of our new player clinics—we host them at the beginning of each season. It’s the best way to meet teams and get connected.

Once a manager adds you to a roster, you’ll get an email from our system with instructions to complete your player registration.

  • What divisions are offered?

We offer multiple divisions to match different skill levels, including Legends Divisions for players 50+. New players are evaluated at a clinic and placed in a division that’s the best fit.

  • When does the season start, and how long does it run?

Our main season takes place in the spring, starting in late February or March and running through May. We also offer a shorter fall season from mid-September to November.

  • Where and when are games played?

Spring games are played at Demuth Park in Palm Springs, typically on Sundays. Fall games are held at fields across the Coachella Valley, depending on scheduling and reseeding, with Demuth Park and Big League Dreams in Cathedral City often used.

  • What tournaments, special events, and clinics does the league offer?

We host the annual Turkey Shootout tournament each November, which started in 2011, along with fundraisers and social events throughout the year. We also assist with the Desert Classic tournament in late February. Optional clinics are available for players looking to build skills, and we partner with the City of Palm Springs for events like Breakfast with Santa. Additional fundraisers and social gatherings are added each season and can vary.

  • What equipment is required?

Players should bring their own glove or mitt. Turf shoes or cleats are recommended (no metal spikes). Most players also bring a USA Softball–approved bat, but senior bats are not allowed.

  • How much does it cost to play?

League fees vary by season and are shared once registration opens. Some teams may also collect a small additional amount to help cover jerseys or team-related costs.

  • How are teams formed?

Teams are formed a few different ways. Some are established teams that add new players each season, and others come together through our new player clinics. New players are rated at a clinic and placed on teams based on skill level, availability, and fit. Occasionally, new teams are formed as well.

  • Is the league beginner friendly?

Yes. We’re very beginner-friendly. We offer clinics to help you learn the basics, and new players are placed in a division that fits their skill level—so there’s no pressure, just a chance to learn and have fun.

  • How can I contact the organization with questions?

You can reach us through the Contact Us form on this site or by messaging us on social media. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

  • How can I sponsor the league?

Sponsors are the lifeblood of our 501(c)(3) organization, and their selfless contributions are essential in keeping membership costs accessible. If you feel the call to become a sponsor and create a lasting impact, we wholeheartedly invite you to connect with our Business Engagement Director at businessdirector@psgsl.org.
